To say I was shocked that baby #3 was a girl would be an under statement. Because I have 2 boys I just assumed my chances of having a 3rd boy were high. I had already thought about boy names, boy bedroom decor and how I'd manage as a mom of 3 rough and tumble, busy boys. Early on I opted in for a genetic blood test called Verifi that screens for a variety of chromosome defects and also gives you the gender very early. When the nurse called with the results I was so shocked I cried, I love my boys but a girl would round out our family nicely. Jason encouraged me to not get too excited until I had the actual ultrasound, thus not to be "disappointed" if in fact it wasn't a girl. I took his advice and waited 4 long weeks for the ultrasound to confirm baby's gender. It was in fact a girl, I immediately phoned several girlfriends and set out on a shopping spree for PINK!
