I returned back to work on December 27, it allowed for a good transition week as it was quiet with a lot of people out on vacation and a short week. My second day back was great as Camden (thanks JRo) sent me flowers to work letting me know he was doing well at daycare and that I shouldn't worry about him. Definitely a bright spot in my week and so nice to have such a thoughtful friend! I'm plugging along day by day but being a working mom of two has it's challenges (hats off to you working moms of 3 and 4, I don't know how you do it!!). Each day gets better as I figure out how to manage and balance my new life!
Daycare Drop With Two:
Sometimes I wish someone could video me in the morning once we get to daycare. Picture this: 0 degrees, snowing, wind blowing...I get out of my car, put on my back pack which is filled with all the daycare necessities for both boys, get Cam out of the car, put him in the front right passenger seat, unbuckle Brody (did i mention the temp of ZERO??), get him out of the car, having to hold him as it's snow packed and slick, grab Cam from the front seat. Cam who's no light weight in 1 arm in car seat, Brody in the other arm. Dash to the door in zero temps with snow blowing in my face, get to the first door (praying someone is there to open it for me) put Cam down open door 1, get inside, put Cam down again and Brody, buzz the secure lock, open second door, pick up Cam, take Brody's hand and head to their classroom. As you can I'm exhausted by the time I get in the front door and my work day hasn't really started. I've come to learn that moms AND dads for that matter should be born with 3 or 4 arms, that would really be useful.
I wouldn't change my life for anything except warmer weather and shorter work week...otherwise I'm feeling extremely blessed!
