Brody with his favorite teacher, Ms Ohnstad...(of course he wouldn't look at the camera)! I'm certain he enjoyed himself and even got a little "taste" too!

Girls Day Out
What a great day...my dear friend JRo took me out on the town for my birthday today! We started at Stella's for lunch...we had a great table on the roof top! We gorged ourselves with appetizers, entree and a yummy red velvet cupcake with to die for cream cheese frosting! Then we headed over to Daisy Nails and got pampered with mani's and pedi's, we garnered much attention from the ladies working at the salon telling me that I was "really BIG", just what ever woman loves to hear at 35 weeks prego! It was such a relaxing day and such a nice treat from a dear friend! Thanks JRo!
Another Great Duluth Weekend!
Last weekend we went to Duluth and the weather was fantastic! Saturday we headed up to Gooseberry Falls. Brody spent an hour throwing rocks in the little brook and splashing in the water (he's such a boy). Then we went on to Betty's Pie...for lunch and well of course, the best pie ever! In the afternoon we played on the beach and dipped our toes in the water (Lake Superior doesn't get warm enough to swim in). Sunday we played at the park and Brody was loving chasing all the birds. Overall it was a great weekend getaway before Baby #2 arrives!

Nursemaid's Elbow
Say what?! Exactly what I said when I heard the ER doc give the diagnosis of Nursemaid's elbow...simply put it's a dislocated elbow. We had Brody's 1 1/2 year pics taken yesterday and as we were leaving Brody didn't want to go down to the hall so Jason gave him a swing out the door by the hands and it happened that quick. Long story short, we made a quick trip to the ER (literally quick, in and out in 10 mins) and the doc put it back into place. I understand it is very common with small children because their ligaments/tendons/muscles aren't strong enough yet. So be weary of swinging your child by the hands (regardless of how much they love it) verse under the arms as it can happen very easily!
Happy Half Birthday Brody!
Our little guy is a year and half! WOW, is all I have to say!! Times does fly when you are chasing around a toddler! Brody is doing great and getting to be such a big boy, he talks often and continues to add new words to his vocab, he's also started to get faster on his feet, no running yet but it won't be long! We had our 18m check up at the pediatrician and while he's doing great overall, we need to "fatten" him up (I long for the day someone says this to ME!!), his weight is a whooping 23lbs, ranking him in the 10-25% range for other children his age, 33 1/1 inches tall (75-90%) and his head is 18 1/2 inches around (25-50%). Given his low weight the doc did an iron check and sure enough he's got low iron, so with that comes a multivitamin and an even bigger push of foods rich in iron. Seems like a simple thing to correct but you trying to push broccoli, spinach and random meats on a picky eater, not easy! Our goal now is to eat as a family so Brody can watch us eat what he eats, we were giving in to his cracker requests to just get him to eat...not anymore, it's our meal or nothing. Hoping these adjustments will help Brody gain some weight and open his eyes to a wider variety of foods!
Brody LOVES being outside and one of his favorite thing is the water table!
Getting a haircut is always so much more fun with a sticky sucker!Big fan of oatmeal (rich in iron!!)
Nightly Jason and Brody do word flashcards, B's gotten to the
point where he brings them to Jason to get started!
